Starpoet by Lisa Jain Thompson
Newsflash:
... meeting a friend years before the 2008 elections
leaves a person not transgendered
with the World Cup
and other concepts to do without …

Springfield, Virginia, USA. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear . . . more specifically, the three dot columns of Herb Caen in the San Francisco Chronicle.
They can see the portrait [?] of Dorian Grey, but will Lisa Jain see it in time?Meeting a friend decades later. Last week I was doing my day job at a meeting at the PEO for Enterprise Information Systems when I released that a colleague was there I hadn’t seen since a decade or more before my ... back when that other person was masquerading as me.

As the meeting progressed, the usual inward awkwardness … does he recognize me? … if he does, what should I say? … if he doesn’t recognize me, shall I tell him? … suppose he’s put off by my transition ? … the usual transsexual B.S. ….

After the meeting he walked over to me … “Hi, I’m John M … we worked with each other in a previous life …” so much for my worries …

Three years out, 2008 presidential candidates are anyone’s guess. But here is who I would vote for along with various organization objections:

2006 Presidential Candidate
Candidate
Wingnut Objections

1. Barack Obama
Does not buy into victimization ; Views similar to Bill Cosby

2. Mark Warner

Southern Moderate ; Techie Capitalist

3. Hillary Clinton

Not Liberal enough ; Does not oppose Iraq War

4. John McCain

Republican ; Does not oppose Iraq War

Who I would not vote for along with my objections:

Candidate
My Objections

1. John Dean
Not presidential material ; “the scream”

2. John Kerry

Inarticulate campaigner ; Cannot defend positions on issues

3. Al Gore

Poor campaigner ; Loser

4. John Edwards

Jack Kennedy’s charm with Ted Kennedy’s brain ; Cannot win a national election

The only one I’ve talked to on Transsexual issues is Mark Warner when he was governor. He seemed interested.

So that’s that …

Why I am not transgendered. My gender has never changed. I have ALWAYS been a woman … from the moment of my conception. What was wrong, what HAS changed, is my genitals.

… follow along in your textbook …

1. I was born with a birth defect … a penis was attached to my body.

2. My brain has always been female … my gender has always been female … the genes to grow my body were expressed inaccurately because of missent hormone activations and other genetic DNA/RNA application errors. If that has confused you …

3. I am TRANS nothing, certainly not my gender. I have been, and always will be, a woman, Jim …

4. Gender is not a penis ... Gender is not a vagina and uterus ... Gender Identity is not between your legs … It’s between your ears inside your brain … part of few pounds of squishy gray wetware …

5. all sparks and tastes and tangles, all its stimulus and response patterns – the whole biocybernetic software of mind … was already female at birth …

Ecce Femina!

The World Cup 2006: German VenuesThe World Cup ... what do you think would happen if we train a group of six foot four natural athletes … the kind that are a dime a dozen on basketball courts and baseball stadiums … to play soccer and gave them four or five years training ….

… how would the current world champions feel about going on field against a team that outweighed them by an average fifty pounds … do the conversion to kilograms yourself

… and outgrew them by 6 inches or more … ditto the metric …

… what would the world think then? … bet they would ask for more drug tests …

Concepts we could do without …

  • Identity Politics
  • Men’s Tennis
  • Six Sigma
  • Getting in touch with your feminine side
  • Fundamental anything
  • My country right or wrong
  • Infallible leaders
  • Straight men in dresses in women’s restrooms
  • Blind faith
  • Meddlesome editors
  • Reality T.V.
  • Censorship
  • Righteous indignation
  • The wingnuts on either extreme …
