Starpoet by Lisa Jain Thompson
Newsflash:
Such a Lovely Grrl

Sweetness,
Such a lovely grrl,
Dark hair set off
By soft white skin,
She stands along
The ragged coastline,
Waiting for the wind to rise
And send her inland
To where I wait.

The night is young
But sweetness flows
Already, like honey
From her lips.
I wrap my arms
Around her protectively,
Drawing her closer
To silence her
With my kiss.
